Herren Associates, a qualified Seaport-e small business, was founded over 25 years ago on the principle of saving money for the Warfighter through in-depth cost analysis and supporting clients during difficult negotiations. Herren has supported energy programs including iENCON, the NAVSEA Energy Office (NAVSEA 05T2), OPNAV N45 - Task Force Energy, NAVSEA 21, the USFF Fleet Operational Energy Program Manager, and Marine Corps Expeditionary Energy Office. Herren has assisted in the development and implementation of operational energy policy at all levels from OPNAV to NAVSEA and USFF. This includes extensive work on the development of a NAVSEA Energy Instruction meant to implement the eventual OPNAV instruction requirements at the SYSCOM level. Herren has expansive knowledge of both the Navy Energy Usage Reporting System (NEURS) and shore energy consumption data, providing quarterly reports to the fleet showing fleet fuel burn rate trends and various metrics to assess energy consumption in the fleet. Herren creates quarterly and annual reports and white papers which display and analyze operational energy metrics for individual ships and classes on both coasts.
